Doug Summers, the company’s owner and principal, has been working in the commercial leasing, sales and management of properties for over 18 years. He started his career in 1992 with Trammell Crow. He worked for Trammell Crowe until 1994 when he went to work for a small privately held company based out of Geneva Il. He began managing a portfolio of 338,000 square feet and left in 2006 managing over 800,000 square feet. Mr. Summers has completed over 400 leases in and around Kane County with transactions totally $40,000,000 in total. Mr. Summers has consulted nationwide relating his expertise of business recruitment to Main Street programs throughout the Midwest and New Mexico.
Summers Commercial currently represents a total of over 1,200,000 square feet of Commercial Properties. Among the many properties that Summers Commercial is currently representing is the First Street Development in downtown St. Charles. As Phase 1 completes, over 97% of the project has been leased. With over 100,000 square feet of retail space available, this development is transforming St. Charles into a place where people will come to work, shop and play. Located directly on the Fox River at Route 64, Summers Commercial was selected to lease this space because of their past experience and of their involvement within the community. In the year 2009 which would be considered a tough economy by anyone’s standards, Summers Commercial was able to lease over 50,000 square feet of suburban downtown retail space.
